Founded in 1842 by the friars of the Order of St. Augustine, Villanova University is a Roman Catholic institution that serves students of all faiths. Villanova has more than 6,300 undergraduates, almost 575 full-time faculty, and sits on a picturesque 254-acre campus with more than 60 buildings, including a library with over 800,000 volumes, an 11,800 seat stadium, and 26 residence halls. Confusing to some is the fact that Villanova falls in both Montgomery and Delaware counties. Children in Montgomery county attend schools in the Lower Merion school district and those in Delaware attend the Radnor school district. Villanova University itself, and the Villanova R5 stop are both located in Delaware county, but both sections of Villanova are considered equally upscale. Both sections also share a 19085 zip code. Villanova is an excellent place to purchase real estate. Unlike many other parts of the country, Villanova housing has remained relatively stable. Known for sprawling estates and executive housing, Villanova's beautiful scenery offers an excellent setting. Homes in Villanova have sold for an average of over $1.2 million dollars over the past 12 months. |
